Basics
Live poker is a rather complex game, which requires some skills and strategies to become successful. Fundamentally, the idea of the game is to end up with the highest-ranking hand. However, punters can win even with a lower hand by bluffing or via several other strategies. The card rankings from lowest to highest are high card, pair, two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, and royal flush.
The rankings are based on a player's hole cards combined with any of the three community cards that make the best hand. The community cards include three flop cards, one turn, and one river. However, players might abandon a game before all community cards are revealed.
How to Play
A poker table typically has a maximum of eight players, but some operators allow up to 14 players.
The game begins with the live dealer dealing two cards to each player. The first player then posts the first bet, called a small blind. The next player has to post a big blind. The bets then continue around the table, with each player having the option to check, raise, or fold.
The live dealer deals the community cards, one per round until all the five community cards are dealt or until all players fold except one. The remaining player or the player with the highest card ranking receives the pot money. The pot is a sum of all the wagers of that round.
